Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how eBay Optimizer ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use our service. We are committed to handling your data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

The data controller responsible for your personal data is Lee Goodyer. If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, you can contact us at alphacircuitltd@gmail.com.

What data we collect

We collect and process the following categories of data:

  • Account data — your email address and, optionally, your name. Your password is stored only as a securely hashed value; we never store it in plain text.
  • eBay listings data — when you connect your eBay account, we access and store information about your listings, such as titles, descriptions, prices, item specifics, photos, and item identifiers, so we can analyse and optimise them.
  • Traffic & analytics data — performance metrics for your listings, including impressions, views, click-through rates, and watcher counts, which we retain over time to show historical trends.
  • Payment data — if you subscribe to a paid plan, billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your card details; Stripe processes them on our behalf. We retain a subscription reference and plan status.
  • Technical data — limited information needed to keep you signed in and to operate the service securely (for example, authentication session cookies).

How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the service;
  • Analyse and optimise your eBay listings, including generating AI-assisted title and description suggestions;
  • Track and display the performance of your listings over time;
  • Process subscription payments and manage your plan;
  • Communicate with you about your account and respond to support requests;
  • Keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

Legal bases for processing

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the service you sign up for); our legitimate interests (to operate, secure, and improve the service); your consent (for example, when you connect your eBay account); and compliance with our legal obligations.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers (processors) needed to run the service:

  • eBay — to read and update your listings, with your authorisation;
  • Stripe — to process payments and manage subscriptions;
  • Anthropic — to generate AI-assisted optimisation suggestions from your listing content;
  • Our hosting and infrastructure providers — to store data and run the application.

Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account remains active. Specifically:

  • Account, listings, and analytics data are retained while your account is open. Note that traffic history is retained indefinitely while your account is active, so you can view long-term trends beyond eBay's own 90-day window.
  • When you delete your account, we permanently erase your associated data — including listings, traffic analytics, optimisation history, relist snapshots, and pricing rules — and cancel any active subscription.
  • We may retain limited records where required for legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention purposes.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Erasure— ask us to delete your data. You can do this yourself at any time from your account settings using "Delete my account";
  • Data portability — request your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format;
  • Restriction and objection — ask us to restrict or object to certain processing;
  • Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at alphacircuitltd@gmail.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Data security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption of passwords and access tokens and restricted access to systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to any incident.

International transfers

Some of our service providers may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses) to ensure your data remains protected.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the service securely. We do not use cookies for advertising.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
